What the note contains
The same shape every time, so it can be skimmed by someone who knows where to look.
The answer, first
The note opens with the answer to the question asked, not a recital of background. If the answer is conditional, the conditions are stated up front rather than buried four sections down.
The governing framework
Which instruments govern, in what order of authority, and how they interact, including where a regulator's guidance interprets a rule rather than making one.
Classification and the factors that drive it
How the activity or instrument classifies under each relevant regime, broken down by factor: which are determinative on their own, which are material but not decisive, and which turn on a threshold or an interpretation.
What remains unsettled
The questions the corpus does not resolve: no regulator statement, no tested authority, or genuine divergence between sources. Stated as a finding, not omitted for tidiness.

The analytical note
Written for the lawyer who will rely on it. Full legal framework, verbatim quotation where the exact wording carries the argument, and the residual uncertainty set out in terms a practitioner can act on.
The client summary
The same analysis and the same depth, written in plain English for a business audience, without the quotation apparatus, and without the softening that usually comes with translating a legal position for a non-lawyer.
Follow-through
It holds a thread
A first answer rarely ends the enquiry. DALI carries the context forward: follow-up questions are answered against the same retrieved material and the same established facts, so the second answer does not quietly contradict the first.
Where a question turns on a factor that deserves its own treatment (a single condition that changes the classification outright), that factor can be taken apart on its own terms, with its sub-factors and the authorities that bear on each.
Completed work is retained in your matter history and can be exported, so a note produced today remains citable evidence of the position as it stood when it was written.
